You do not accept to reset your computer.  But get into the Control Panel and search Computer Proper noun.  Go into Rename this Computer and click the Change push button.  Type in the name that yous want and click OK.  It may want you to restart your computer for changes to accept effect.

My wife and I traded computers.  We would like to change the registered owers to our names.  Tin't figure out how.  Please assist.

What is it you *REALLY* desire to modify?

If it is the username - create a new user, log in as that user and use it to delete the other account.

Since 'registration' is optional and doesn't really do anything to speak of - that isn't something y'all demand to exercise.

Is it the name of the computer?

Since they are both Windows 8... (or that is where you lot posted)...

Remove everything and reinstall Windows

If you want to recycle your PC, give it away, or just start over, you can reset it completely.

Notation

• Y'all might be prompted to insert discs or recovery media that came with your PC. Check the info that came with your PC to see if your PC manufacturer provided these discs or media. In some cases, you might have created them when y'all start set upward your PC.

Alert

• All of your personal files will be deleted and your settings volition be reset. Any apps the came with your PC volition be reinstalled, but all other apps will be removed.

To reset your PC

1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and so tap Change PC settings.
   (If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse arrow down, click Settings, and so click Change PC settings.)

2. Under PC settings, tap or click Full general.

3. Nether Remove everything and reinstall Windows , tap or click Go started.

4. Follow the instructions on the screen.
